In 1973, a photographer named Ken Griffiths started taking pictures of an elderly couple as they stood in their garden. Each month of the year, Ken would photograph this couple from East Sussex, England as they stood in the same spot outside their home. This photo series captures the beauty of the seasons changing around them with each new picture. You can see plants and flowers blossoming, rain, sunshine, dark clouds and all kinds of environmental changes happening as the couple keeps the same pose in each photograph.
Ken loves to capture the lives that people live in their communities. However, many critics call this particular photo series his most dramatic work. The final photograph in the series shows the husband standing alone in his garden without his wife next to him. It truly gives the viewer a sense of emotional loss and a feeling like the husband is missing something from his life.
