There aren’t many houseplants that are defined as ‘cute’, but the humble succulent plant may be one key exception. The Monilaria obconica species, commonly referred to as a succulent, bears a striking resemblance to an adorable rabbit figure when sprouting, and the lovable plant has been making waves in Japan.
Funnily enough, the Monilaria obconica doesn’t maintain this cute appearance forever, with the plant most resembling a bunny right after the stalks sprout. This leaves two bulbous stalks that look very like rabbit ears, but unfortunately, they eventually grow bigger, losing that adorable rabbit-resemblance.
Given how much the plant looks like a loveable rabbit cartoon, its little surprise that it has become so popular in Japanese pop culture. A Japanese Twitter user that tweeted an image of the adorable flora immediately
lovable the plant looks, we can see many tiny succulent plants making their way into homes captured the hearts of users throughout the country.
Considering just how around the world.
